South Africa's initiative to improve government's foreign policy has been strengthened following the launch of two foreign policy organs in Pretoria on Thursday.
Relations between the South African Association of Former Ambassadors, High Commissioners and Chief Representatives and the South African Council on International Relations have been formalised.
The newly-established think-tank consists of retired and serving diplomats as well as people from business, labour and civil society.
International Relations Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane explains, "These two organisations are our public diplomacy in action. They will speak for us and be our ears and offer a helping hand and advise us as we move forward for a better South Africa and as we implement Agenda 2063."
