The Public Affairs Section of U.S. Embassy Conakry, Guinea, is currently accepting proposals through its Public Diplomacy Small Grants program for Ebola-related projects. These projects must help survivors, the local health system, or local communities to prevent further Ebola outbreaks or to help Ebola survivors re-integrate into their communities.
Project Priorities
- Strengthen the ties between the United States and Guinea
- Advance peace, security, and opportunity in Guinea through the promotion of good governance, rule of law, enhanced and educated civic participation, and increased democracy.
- Promote empowerment and advancement of youth, women, and/or religious and ethnic minorities.
- Increase public support for U.S.-Guinean cooperation in business, entrepreneurship,science and technology and support sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction.
- Promote public support and respect for American values, in particular broader understanding and protection of human rights.
- Promote awareness of and appreciation for American art and culture.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Projects that show technical innovation, or focus mainly on training and capacity-building, will be given special consideration.
- Projects that focus mainly on the buying of equipment or the paying of salaries will not be considered.
- Projects should have a strong American component or be related to American values.
- The Embassy will give preference to organizations with a proven track record of executing superior events and programs, and those with a cost share component.
